  • A bill that would create a board on equine welfare and safety in Kentucky advanced out of committee in the state’s House of Representatives on Wednesday. The Kentucky House Agriculture and Small Business Committee unanimously passed House Bill 398, which would create the Kentucky Equine Health and Welfare Board. The board would be under the state’s Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet.   • THE Macarthur Reptile Society’s fourth annual show on Sunday, February 28, is bound to be a big affair. More than 100 live animals including venomous snakes, frogs, insects turtles, goannas, skinks and geckos will join in the fun at Minto Indoor Sports complex. Even a live crocodile will make an appearance. There will also be reptiles for sale for licensed owners, displays and stalls from local organisations related to reptiles and exotic animals.
