Marathon Runner’s Wanted
Join the Lake Shore Marathon Team today, and you will be training and socializing with others who are running in honor of their own dogs and cats and to benefit less fortunate homeless animals. Everyone is running from the bottom of their hearts!
Being part of the Lake Shore team brings you great benefits: professional training and membership with the Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA); social gatherings with team members and Tree House team members; special events; a carb loading dinner the eve of the race; fundraising help from our staff. Invite your old running buddies to join in, meet new people, and have a great time. The Marathon may be in October, but if last year is any indication, runner applications will be closing in April.
Get Started and join the team today! Call 312 409 1162. Please leave your name, 2 contact numbers if possible, and level of experience, if any. Elizabeth or Mary will get back to you.
Meet Our Team Captain Peter Dlugosch :
“This year I will be running for the Lake Shore Animal Shelter. I was fortunate enough to adopt Troon from the LSAS. She was a wonderful dog that passed away late last year. The volunteers at the LSAS do a phenomenal job and every dollar will help their efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!”
Nathaniel Cutler , one of Lake Shore’s great volunteers, has also signed up and started his page.
There are four other mystery runners who are signed up with Bank of America to run for us, but who have not yet filled out their Firstgiving.org pages. It’s okay to be shy, as long as you are signed up to run for Lake Shore Animal Shelter before the entries close!
